They’re repaving Tasker Street in South Philadelphia, so they stripped off some asphalt, temporarily revealing cobblestones underneath.

I wish they’d go back to the cobbles; they’re inconvenient for cyclists, but they’d force motorists to drive more safely in this neighborhood.

@joe How about pavement for the cycle lane, and cobblestones for the driving lanes.

@murph I would absolutely love it if the city would do this on every single street.

@joe paradoxically, bad roads would cause motorists to drive more safely...

@js290 @joe I remember hearing that British roads are safer than American ones because the windiness causes drivers to pay more attention. Don't know how true that is but it makes sense.
